The 5th Centralised event of the 2001 season was held at Oakington on June 10th having been rearranged from Barkston - this site still having restrictions in place due to Foot and Mouth
The combination of rather excessive wind and the rough surface made three ups impossible so, after a first attempt at three up resulted in disaster, all racing was held as two ups - thus meaning that none of the heat times will go forward towards team qualification. Places will still count towards the F2C League positions.
8 teams turned up on the day but only 6 actually raced because of the conditions.
Racing began at 12:30 but times were pretty average with the fastest time of the day being put in by Ross/Turner (3:24.2) - No other team managed to get inside 3:30
Congratulations go to our new team of Clive Sharp and Mike North who, after having to retire injured at the previous event, managed to put in their first official time in F2C (4:33.4)
No final was flown and places taken on heat times.
F2C National had been scheduled in but, with only 2 teams present, this was cancelled.
