Automated Crossing Project

Something I had thought about for quite a while was a working level crossing

The Ideas I had were :-

Gates that work "hand in hand" so there is no individual movement

Controlled by servo from the Maestro USB board

Creating isolated track when "Closed" to trains

Controlling Red/Green lights on Road (and possibly track)

Having measured up some old gates from a hornby crossing I managed to get some largeish plastic cogs that wer the perfect dimensions if laid as follows :-
