This event was on the FAI calendar but not as a "World Cup" event and as such received a relatively low entry – only 11 teams. Times were average with only the top three French teams going inside 3:30 during the event and the cut off for the final was 3:50.2 – the embarrassing thing here being that the two British teams present did not make it to the final.
The event was won by Delor/Constant with a 7:29.1 in the final and the team of Vendel/Gemert just beat Maret/Peret by 1 second to claim second spot.
We were supposed to be at a three day event but the organizers decided to run it in 2 days because a couple of the French fliers wanted to get away – pity they did not tell us !
